To the Editor, Idaho Librarian:
Congratulations! You are the first person I've heard express what has
seemed to me to be the easy answer to the State of Idaho's fiscal woes:
rollback the tax cuts. Are the legislators and governor blind to this
simple solution? "We made the tax cuts. Now we're in fiscal trouble. We
need to roll them back."
But wait! I beg to differ with you on your comments about librarians
removing material from their collections they know to be false. How do
they know it's false? Some have beliefs that I "know" are false, but
that doesn't mean others would "know" they were false. There's a fine
line between facts and beliefs. As a librarian, I don't want to be the
one to define the line. That doesn't mean, of course, that we can't tell
our patrons our opinions, which solution you do mention in your article.
