ADIEU Sandra Shropshire The Idaho Librarian has two new editors—my colleagues, Leonard Hitchcock and Kristi Austin. They are enthusiastic about the change, and have some interesting ideas about where to take the publication from here. I’ve enjoyed serving as the editor for the Idaho Librarian. It has been a singularly interesting experience to have initiated an electronic journal. Interesting, and educational, at the same time. I’ve learned more about practical html details than I’d ever known before, and I’ve faced issues relevant to any ongoing electronic publication, such as how to manage online advertising and when to call an electronic issue “complete.” The experience has also provided opportunities for me to work with all sorts of ILA members—in writing stories, in managing the details of publication, at Board meetings and at conferences. I remain impressed with the level of dedication and professionalism that I have seen in our numbers. I hope that you will continue to contribute stories and ideas for Leonard and Kristi as you have for me. Why the change? I’ve become a student again. It’s a necessary change, but one that allows me to pursue an interest in a subject area not far removed from libraries: I’m pursuing an M.A. in English. These days, if I’m not at my library working or studying, I can be found in the halls of the ISU Liberal Arts building, or asleep--or sometimes both.
