Leadership to Make a Difference

Leadership to Make a Difference

The Library Leadership Advisory Committee, a collaborative effort between the Idaho Commission for Libraries and the Idaho Library Association, is excited to announce that we will host a Leadership to Make A Difference Institute for Southwest Idaho library staff. There are 15 seats available.

The two-day event will be held on April 17 &18 of 2018
(site will be announced soon).

Facilitated by the University of Idaho Extension Service, this training is designed to assist Idaho library staff in developing confidence in their own leadership abilities and the courage to take action through:

      •  Greater understanding of self, others, and community.

                 •  Strengthening skills for leading meetings, working with others, and dealing with conflict.

        •  Creating strategies for communicating, partnering, and fundraising within communities.

       • Developing a personal leadership plan and strategies for implementing new ideas in current community work.

Leadership is a necessary skill for today’s library staff.  Integrating library services throughout the community you serve is essential for sustainability of services.
This training is targeted toward small, rural communities, libraries and those individuals with little or no direct leadership background.
Registration will open on 9/5/2017 and close on 10/10/2017.  A wait list will be maintained to fill cancellations.
