1. The library maintains an up-to-date reference collection. (See Appendix F for a suggested list of basic resources.) 

To achieve this standard, the library has at least one copy of each of the following: 
 

  • Idaho State Code and local ordinances
  • general encyclopedia - copyright date within last three (3) hyears
  • almanac
  • dictionary (unabridged) - most recent edition
  • dictionary (abridged) - copyright date within last three (3) years
  • thesaurus - copyright date within last ten (10) years
  • book of quotations - copyright date within last five (5) years
  • biographical dictionary - copyright date within last five (5) years
  • general periodical index - current year
  • statistical abstract
  • atlas - copyright date within last three (3) years
  • Books in Print - latest edition
  • local telephone book - latest version
