Resolution to alter ILA Treasurer term

 

 

Whereas the Idaho Library Association year is the calendar year as specified in the bylaws, and

 

Whereas, an outgoing treasurer would be best-qualified to process conference receipts and prepare post-conference reports in the months following the conference, and

 

Whereas, the bylaws require a financial review and transfer of books to be completed within 30 days after a new treasurer takes office, and

 

Whereas, the Idaho Library Association executive board voted to recommend to the membership a change in the term of treasurer to a calendar year, and

 

Whereas, making the treasurer happy is of vital importance to the Association,

 

Therefore, be it resolved, that the Idaho Library Association bylaws, Article IV, Section 4 (d) be changed to read that the treasurer shall take office on January 1 of the year following his/her election.

 

 (Current wording:  “The Treasurer shall be elected in even-numbered years to serve for a term of two years, and shall take office following the annual conference.”)
