Second General Session

Lewiston, Idaho     October 6, 2000

 

President Ron Force called the meeting to order.  He introduced Janet Strong, who read the following resolutions:

 

Resolution thanking Ron Force for his service as ILA President. (Exhibit A)

Resolution thanking Larry Almeida for his service as Conference Chair. (Exhibit A)

Resolution thanking Jennifer and Chris Ashby for their service at Local Arrangements Co-Chairs. (Exhibit A)

Resolution to alter the Treasurer’s term. (Exhibit B)

Resolution supporting the funding of a School Library Consultant’s Position for the Idaho State Library. (Exhibit C)

 

 

All resolutions passed.

 

Ron made a plea for members to become involved in the Association.

 

Ron passed the gavel to our new President, Larry Almeida.

 

Larry accepted the gavel and thanked everyone involved in making the conference a success, particularly Chris and Jennifer Ashby. 

He pointed out that many people, especially our legislators, are unaware of the LiLI databases and that we have a lot of work to do in seeing that they are informed. He encouraged attendees to join the Idaho Library Association and to volunteer their time to serve on a committee
