Where are the 2009 membership cards?

Many thanks to all the new and renewing members of ILA!  I've gotten emails from several of you asking when you'll see your 2009 membership cards.  I know this is important, since without the card you can't log in to see the online member directory.  I'd like to ask for your patience for just a bit longer.  I was laid up for quite a while this winter with a broken ankle.  It's healing nicely, and I expect to get the cards out next week.

Member list update

The directory of current ILA members has just been updated.  A new feature has been added: there are now separate lists for each division.

Remember: the directory is only accessible to current ILA members.  The user name and password are on your 2008 membership card.

Too Fond of Books

Have you seen the "Too Fond of Books" ornament with the quotation from Louisa May Alcott and wondered where the line is from?

"Speak Up!" Library Advocacy Tips Return

I'm happy to announce that the weekly "Speak Up!" library advocacy tips have returned today with a link to the website of the Association of Library Trustees and Advocates (ALTA). Please let your colleagues know that they will be posted regularly on the ILA's website.

"Speak Up!" Links Updated

The PR and Advocacy Committee would like you to know that the links to magazine articles on the "Speak Up!" pages have been updated to reflect the new LiLI database collection.  Each entry contains a note of which LiLI database to look in for the article text.
