Handing over the Gavel

Here's a shot of outgoing President, Ben Hunter, turning over the gavel to our new President, Gena Marker, at the end of the business meeting on Thursday, October 6.

Update on Amazon Affiliate Program

With the new month, I have learned a little more about how the Amazon Affiliate Program works.  In the middle of August, we started out at the basic return rate of 4%.  By the end of the month, because of the number of items that were ordered via our link, the return rate was raised to 6.5%, and was applied retroactively.  The monthly report shows that there were 63 clicks and 54 items were ordered, out of which 43 have shipped.  Our income for the month was $22.86.  Not bad for a couple of weeks!  This month, they have started us out at 6%.  Payment for each month will be made 60 days

Off to a good start with Amazon link

Thanks to everyone who has used the new Amazon link.  In less than two weeks, you have ordered 45 items, and the rate that ILA receives has increased from 4% to 6%.  We have made a whopping $11.39!!  Keep it up!

Report from the Treasurer

My report on the bills and banking that I've been working on this winter is available for your perusal.  Just go to Reports, and scroll down to Officers and Treasurer.

Where are the 2009 membership cards?

Many thanks to all the new and renewing members of ILA!  I've gotten emails from several of you asking when you'll see your 2009 membership cards.  I know this is important, since without the card you can't log in to see the online member directory.  I'd like to ask for your patience for just a bit longer.  I was laid up for quite a while this winter with a broken ankle.  It's healing nicely, and I expect to get the cards out next week.

Member list update

The directory of current ILA members has just been updated.  A new feature has been added: there are now separate lists for each division.

Remember: the directory is only accessible to current ILA members.  The user name and password are on your 2008 membership card.

Too Fond of Books

Have you seen the "Too Fond of Books" ornament with the quotation from Louisa May Alcott and wondered where the line is from?
