The Idaho Library Association gives awards and scholarships to outstanding librarians, library students and programs from the Idaho library community.

Awards
Awards are presented at the annual conference of the Idaho Library Association and include special recognition for:
- Librarian Of The Year,
- Trustee Of The Year,
- Friend Of The Year,
- Legislator Of The Year, members of the
- Legislative Honor Roll, individuals who have provided
- Special Services To Libraries, and other categories as recommended by the ILA membership.
These awards acknowledge deserving people in our library communities.
2009 ILA Awards Nomination [PDF]
To nominate someone for any of these awards, use the ILA Award Nomination Form and contact other persons who will write letters of support for your nominee. They may also use the form provided. The nominators will be notified by the Scholarship and Awards Committee if their nominee has been selected, and will be invited to make the presentation at the conference.

Scholarships
The ILA Executive Board has budgeted a total of $500.00 for scholarships and awards this year through the ILA Scholarship Fund. Money can be awarded to librarians who wish to further their education through workshops, correspondence courses, conferences, or seminars. Each application will be given full and equal consideration by the Scholarship and Awards Committee. To apply for a scholarship from this fund, please complete the ILA Scholarship Application Form that has been provided.

In addition to other financial awards, the ILA Executive Board has established a new scholarship fund in memory of Gardner Hanks, who served as Continuing Education Consultant for the Idaho State Library from 1989 until his death on February 1, 2002. This annual scholarship, in the amount of $500.00, is available to ILA members who are beginning or continuing formal library education, pursuing a Masters of Library Science degree or Media Generalist certification. ILA is also seeking donations to increase the fund. To apply for this scholarship, please complete the Gardner Hanks Scholarship Application Form that has been provided.
