The American Library Association (ALA) is an excellent source of information for library advocacy campaigns. Embedded in the advocacy campaign toolkits below are tutorials and exercises to help you craft your message, draft a communications strategy and implement an advocacy plan.



Libraries Transform

Anyone can register on this site and receive access to the Libraries Transform Toolkit. The Toolkit contains information on target audiences, key messages, launching a campaign, public relations, collecting stories as well as templates and graphics to use locally.

Citizens-Save-Libraries: A Power Guide for Successful Advocacy

United for Libraries: The Association for Trustees, Advocates, Friends, and Foundations offers this guide to assist with organizing an advocacy campaign, developing messages, talking points, and delivery strategies. Included in the appendix are sample Return On Investment/ROI statements to help you show the cost effectiveness of library services.
