ALA Midwinter Meeting 2010

I had the pleasure of representing the Idaho Library Association at the 2010 ALA Midwinter Meeting January 14-19th in Boston, MA.  As ILA's Chapter Councilor to ALA's Council, I have prepared notes from the various reports, actions, and decisions made at the meeting.  Attached are reports from ALA and the ALA-APA.

ALA-APA is the ALA Allied Professional Association.  A sister organization to ALA, ALA Councilors are also the ALA-APA Councilors and governing body.  Just a couple highlights:

ALA Annual Conference - Council Report and Notes

As ILA's Chapter representative to the American Library Association, I have just taken part in the ALA Annual Conference held July 10-15 in Chicago.  In my role as Chapter Councilor, I participate in the governance of ALA as a member of Council.  In addition, I have the privilege of being a member of the ALA Chapter Relations Committee.  My report focuses heavily on the business of Council, but I've included some additional information that came up at Chapter Relations Committee meetings.
